HAPPY 32ND BIRTHDAY TO DADDY

We had a little party this morning for Daddy before he went to work- lemon cake before lunch, that's my idea of a good time!

I have such a wonderful father who loves to play and spend time with me.  Thank you God for my Daddy!

Food Bump

So- other than my funny bumps I started off on solids really well.  I LOVED everything I could eat- I tried bananas, carrots, apples, avacados, and pears.  Then, all of the sudden last week food just lost its appeal to me, I'm bored already with all of it.   They keep trying to shove this stuff in my mouth and I just don't want it! 

Anybody got any ideas for how to get me to eat???

It's taking awhile to come up because I don't teeth on ANYTHING.  I know they think it will make my life easier if I bite on things, but I beg to differ.

My Half Birthday

We've been a little busy around here lately, they are a little late posting my half birthday pictures.  Here I am with my new 6- month smile.  I now crinkle my nose WAY up when I grin, sometimes it looks more like a grimace, but give a girl a break, I'm still figuring out all these things I can do with my face.

Another 6 month thing I can do is sit on my own.  I just started doing it a couple of days ago, MUCH better than being on my tummy.

And....the biggest news of the week.....I HAVE A TOOTH!  no picture yet- here are some of them trying to get one, they decided they need another person to hold my head still so someone else can pull my lip back and then they can get the picture.  I've got a strong neck, I workout you know.

ALLERGIC

This does not bode well for things to come- this is what happens when I eat bananas.  My most favorite thing in the world. Just my luck.!  I guess we'll try carrots next.

B is for BANANA!

The greatest thing in the world happened to me last Sunday.  REAL FOOD!!! Everyone has been holding out of me these 5 and 3/4 months. In a word- WOW!  

At first Mommy let me gnaw on her banana a little....

I made a pretty good dent in that and so they decided to give me the baby food banana since it has less lumps.  Daddy couldn't shove it in fast enough.  

It is awfully ironic that I L-O-V-E bananas since they are the one food my Daddy hates more than any other.

Just hanging around

We've had a couple of slower weeks- Daddy's been working a lot so Mommy and I have spent LOTS of quality time together.  We try to go walk in the park before it gets too hot, then I have a couple naps in the morning, then we play a little bit, then another nap, and then is the LOOOONG stretch where she makes me stay up all the way to 7pm, it's hard for me (and her) to make it to 7 every night.  I tend to get a little cranky when I'm tired, just like my Aunt Lauren (so I've heard).  

The main thing I am working on lately is this crawling thing, I don't know why they keep pushing it on me.  It's not going quite as well as I'd hoped.  Apparently it is not as easy as it looks and is actually very difficult to to do, especially if you HATE to be on your tummy more than anything in the world-which, I do. 
 

Anyway, enough of my woes, here are a few pics of me this week.

We tried the sippy cup this week too- don't let these pictures deceive you, I really have no idea what to do with this thing.

Beam me up Scottie

I now have my very own seat at the table.  My George Jettson highchair.  It's pretty cool, it has a pneumatic lift that lets them adjust my height to whatever I need. It also has wheels and they roll me around all over the place. I'm still a little small for it, but don't worry, I'm growing quickly.

Uncle Jonathan and Aunt Lauren

I've had lots of visitors lately- last weekend my Uncle Jonathan and Aunt Lauren came to visit me from DC.  We had a nice relaxing weekend.  Mommy and Aunt Lauren went for a walk Saturday morning and then went to the Farmer's Market while Daddy and Uncle Jonathan rode the Virginia Creeper Trail.  We cooked out and ate LOTS of food.  Well, THEY ate lots of food, I was still stuck with the same old milk. 

4th of July Weekend

This weekend my Nana, Gramps, and Aunt Ali came to visit me.  We had lots of fun playing together.  They enjoyed a great firework show from the back deck, but sleepy me, I missed it.  Maybe next year I'll be old enough to stay up to watch it.  Although it sure seems like everyone is enjoying my new 7:30 bedtime...yep, I'm now sleeping 11 hours every night.  What, surprised?  I don't know why everyone has such little faith in me.

 

Then, on the 4th of July I got to wear my patriotic Arkansas outfit- I'm not sure I'm quite the beauty pagent type, but they had fun pretending...and well, sometimes it is just easier to let them do what they want to with me rather than make a big deal out of these things.

 

 

5 months today!

I've decided I will be a ballerina when I grow up- I already have the tutu and lots of ballet shoe-socks.  Just wait Sugar Plum Fairy.
